Richard Shrout, Founding Partner
Richard Shrout, MLS, past-president of the American Society for Indexing (ASI), focuses on domestic and international indexing issues, including the changing digital publishing environment. Richard has a passion for collaboration and service with 20+ years directing technical services in the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Federal Trade Commission library systems. Richard has traveled throughout the world meeting with indexers and associated vendors in places as diverse as China, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, and Russia. Richard lives and works in Kansas.
Estalita Slivoskey, Managing Partner
Estalita has been a full-time indexer since 2005. With a degree in business management, an early career as a Fortune 500 database analyst, as well as extensive experience as a small business owner, Estalita brings a passion for accuracy and service to her work. Her successful solo indexing career was built through marketing, solid networking, and a portfolio of high-quality work with specialties in computer, business, travel and sports, textbooks, and general audience prior to becoming a managing partner with Potomac Indexing. She lives and works in West Virginia.
Joanne Sprott, Managing Partner
Joanne Sprott has been a freelance book indexer, copy editor, and proofreader since 1995. Her academic background includes undergraduate work in linguistics and graduate work in philosophy. She is an expert indexer in a wide range of subjects, including anthropology, biography, business, computer manuals, history, military affairs, philosophy, psychology, religion, and science, particularly social sciences. She is experienced in trade and textbook indexing along with embedded indexing of technical documentation and standard vocabulary development. She’s developed a reputation for on-time, concise, quality indexing to balance the needs of authors, index users, and publishers alike. Joanne founded and has served as president of the American Society for Indexing’s South Central chapter. She also teaches a short online book indexing course with the Library Juice Academy. Joanne lives and works in Oregon.
Meghan Brawley, Managing Partner
Meghan Brawley has been working as an indexer, researcher, and copy writer since 2010, after several years as a reference librarian. For Meghan, quality service means flexibility and responsiveness, as well as accuracy and attention to detail. Meghan has a wide range of subject knowledge, including: history, political science, military and current affairs, religion, sociology, crafts, literature, self-help, education, and child development. She is committed to professional service, and has served as president of the American Society for Indexing’s Mid- and South-Atlantic chapter and is the administrator of ASI’s Training in Indexing course. Meghan currently lives and works in Georgia.
