Richard Shrout, Founding Partner
Richard Shrout, MLS, past-president of the American Society for Indexing (ASI), focuses on domestic and international indexing issues, including the changing digital publishing environment. Richard has a passion for collaboration and service with 20+ years directing technical services in the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Federal Trade Commission library systems. Richard’s current specialty is working with religious publishers and creating scripture book indexes. Richard has traveled throughout the world meeting with indexers and associated vendors in places as diverse as China, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, and Russia. Estalita Slivoskey, Managing Partner
Estalita Slivoskey has been a full-time indexer since 2005. With a degree in business management, an early career as a Fortune 500 database analyst, as well as extensive experience as a small business owner, Estalita brings a passion for accuracy and service to her work. Her successful career was built through marketing, solid networking, and a portfolio of high-quality work. Areas of special interest include computers, business, travel, sports, textbooks, and books for a general audience. Estalita also works with keyword tagging of electronic resources, embedded indexing using Index Manager, taxonomy and controlled vocabulary creation, and she enjoys managing large collaborative team projects. Joanne Sprott, Managing Partner
Joanne Sprott has been a freelance book indexer, copy editor, and proofreader since 1995. Her academic background includes undergraduate work in linguistics and graduate work in philosophy. She is an expert indexer in a wide range of subjects, including business, computer manuals, history, science, and travel. She is experienced in trade book indexing along with embedded indexing for InDesign and HTML/ASCIIdoc documents, as well as keyword tagging of electronic resources. She’s developed a reputation for on-time, concise, quality indexing to balance the needs of authors, index users, and publishers alike. Joanne lives and works in Oregon. S. Anne Fifer, Managing Partner
Anne Fifer began freelance indexing in 2008 and has been full-time since 2011. She indexes trade books, encyclopedias, and medical books of various levels. Other areas of special interest include culinary arts, food science, gardening, organic farming, birding, and apiculture. Anne does embedded indexing for both InDesign and Word documents. Her education includes a PhD in psychology and DO with specialty in neurology. She served on the committee to write ASI’s Best Indexing Practices. She lives and works in North Carolina. Jessica Freeman, Managing Partner
Jessica Freeman is an indexer, proofreader, and former librarian who has been indexing since 2015. She specializes in scholarly publications geared toward theory, criticism, and historical interpretation in various fields, such as dance studies, history, political science, religion, and literature. She is also interested in cookbooks, poetry, and biographies as they become available. Jessica holds an MLIS (Masters in Library Science) from Pratt Institute and an undergraduate degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Georgia.
